The Weak Things

"And by the weak things of the earth the Lord shall thresh the nations by the power of his Spirit". The scripture was stated with a tone of clarity and confidence as the teacher of our Gospel Doctrine class pointed to me slouched over next to him as an example of such weak things. My awkward laugh and evasive eyes set the example in stone. I was given an extra boost of confidence earĺier as a homeless guy in the street, that had powers to dance so he could freeze time, told me I had a great spirit. All in all these two weeks or so have been a hope to bring the Holy Ghost and a message of Jesus Christ to those that will accept it.

We've done a lot of different lessons, contacts, and other ways to find people including entertaining a group of children with english phrases, mime tricks, and a heel click that helped us teach their grandma later.

I've been learning a lot more about doing the Lord's work and doing it in a more fun and natural way. We've been knocking a lot more doors but sometimes playing a quick bit of soccer and later explain about our purpose as misisionaries is and what the Book of Mormon is. Its a lot different than im used to but it seems to help to get to know more people.

One lesson we had this week including a happy, devoted father that wanted the best for his children and to always be with his family. As a very polite man, he let us into his home so we got to talk with him. We eventually got talking about God and churches. He told us of his love and belief in God but that he belived that he could feel all the spirit of the churches in his home and that the church was only for money. We explained to him a bit about the Sacrament and the Plan of Salvation.

I tried to testify how the church and the ordences that we do help us to be with our familes forever. After other comments we concluded that he would come on sunday with his family to see how it was but that he didn't want to spend so much time away from his family. It was hard to get a balance of eternal family but we hope to progress with him.

I hope all have a good Thanksgiving week!
