That's Not the Eiffel Tower

In our recent Zone Conference, we got to talk about spiritual subjects, as one does in Zone Conferences, and see lots of old friends. I especially enjoyed seeing my trainer and reminding him of his various songs he used to sing to me. It has always been good to laugh at my old experiences with my companions. The conference continued its usual theme of obedience, creating goals, and reaching certain standards of excellence. That core theme has stuck around since I first got here. However, the way they presented that theme and other parts that the mission needs help with has changed. I loved how they talked about sacrifices and Grace. It seemed like something prepared just for me and my picky preferences. I was left with many answers and inspirations that I didn't fully know I needed an answer to.

Our week consisted of a better offering as we were able to leave more and find those that would accept us and Christ's message. One of them is a young girl whose energy matches her desire to be baptized in her inactive family. When we asked her why she wanted to get baptized so much, she stood up a bit straighter in her bedazzled shirt and pink heely shoes and replied happily that she would be able to go to Church more. I responded saying that she doesn't need to be baptized to go to Church. She brushed away my comment with a simple comment that when one gets baptized one should go to Church like they said they would. I felt somewhat bamboozled by her simple responses, but I could tell that her action of baptism would mean a lot to her. We had a good talk all together and were able to laugh at our spontaneous party tricks as well.

Another person that we found also has a great desire to know of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They live almost in Sinaloa, the state under ours. She still belongs to our area luckily. We called her one day and her excitement grew as she asked hopefully if we could meet virtually. We were able to do a classic Zoom call with her. We explained the Restoration of the Gospel to her and her 6 yr old son that had a big fascination with two gringos. After we had finished the lesson, she expressed her gratitude for what we're doing. She said she still needs to think about our message, study it, but that she is glad there are people fighting on God's side in this world. We're going to keep Zoom calling her and hopefully hellp her in her doubts and hope.

Along with these happy experiences, I've noticed my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has strenghted. Not in a sudden "best two years" sense but in an gradual foundation. I had the testimony, experiencias of pure joy  and spirit in the scriptures, that has continued to grow. His eternal Gospel and Grace is really all we need. I know that this Gospel is eternal and true. This work really is for the eternal life of man and is the most important work on this earth. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but showing my love for God by serving Him. What a beautiful time to be called to serve.
